IFR Flight Training School announces nation-wide marketing for its INSTRUMENT RATING-LONG COURSE. The IFR-LONG COURSE employs superior training using a PCATD (Personal Computer Aviation Training Device) to develop exceptional IFR procedures capability. This one-of-a-kind instrument training course equips the general aviation pilot with the IFR flying skills that correspond traditionally with military, airline and other highly professional pilots. The course is designed for aviators who are interested in becoming exceptional IFR pilots with either professional or non-professional intentions in mind.
Based at the Georgetown Municipal Airport in Georgetown, Texas, the school is owned and operated by Mark Wilson who holds Airline Transport Pilot and Gold Seal Flight Instructor certificates. Mr. Wilson realized a need for the development of exceptional IFR flying skills as a result of his own military and commercial aviation experience.
The program’s key elements consist of a comprehensive seventy-lesson syllabus, highly skilled and dedicated instructors and the *ELITE™ (PCATD) Flight Simulator. The ELITE™ Flight Simulator allows students to practice procedures in their home or office after learning IFR lessons from their instructor. Students are optimally productive with their training when they master their procedures in the ELITE™ Flight Simulator before flying the aircraft. Pilots can also rehearse trips using the simulator before actually flying them.
The IFR-LONG COURSE is likely to be America’s most comprehensive as well as the most expensive general aviation instrument training program with a base cost of over $10,000. Military programs which build a corresponding level of IFR flying skills costs in the hundreds of thousands of dollars range. Monetarily speaking, the program contains substantial value when compared to military programs. Mr. Wilson believes that there is a market for pilots who desire to train beyond minimum standards to a higher level of confidence.
The IFR-LONG COURSE has been under development since January, 1989 and has been validated by both general aviation and military instructor pilots. Graduates with less than 300 hours total time fly IFR with remarkable competency, accuracy, confidence and ease.
