File and fly IFR with ease and confidence |
How would you like to consistently file and fly IFR with ease and confidence? Maintaining
IFR proficiency has traditionally been difficult for general aviation and even some
professional pilots. But now, using the ELITE™ computer based flight simulator (PCATD),
developing and maintaining exceptional IFR proficiency is possible and expected.
ELITE™ Flight Simulator training and practice in conjunction with IFR Workshops
will provide the opportunity for instrument pilots to fly their IFR trips with accuracy,
confidence and ease.

The IFR Currency and Proficiency Program involves the use of four key components: |
ELITE™ Flight Simulator (PCATD) Owning your personal ELITE™ Flight Simulator software
is an important component of your IFR proficiency program. By having convenient
access to a flight simulator, pilots can practice their instrument flying skills
frequently. Pilots will find their aircraft flight currency and proficiency work
optimally productive when training exercises are practiced beforehand in the ELITE™
Flight Simulator. Pilots can rehearse anticipated IFR trips in advance covering
departures, enroute segments, arrivals and approaches to perfection. This familiarization
process ensures comfortable and enjoyable IFR flying for pilot and passengers. It's
also considered excellent and inexpensive "trip insurance."

IFR Syllabus |
The IFR Flight Training School syllabus is considered one of the best the aviation
industry has to offer. It consists of seventy comprehensive instrument training
lessons designed to enable pilots to understand and competently fly IFR procedures
involving basic instruments, radio navigation, holding, approaches, cross-country
and emergency procedures. Advanced systems operations including RMI, HSI, GPS and
Flight Director operations are available. The IFR syllabus is capable of meeting
military and professional aviation strength standards. Pilots help select lessons
from the syllabus that correspond to their needs.

IFR Instructors
|
IFR Flight Training School instructors are a key resource of the ELITE™ IFR Currency
and Proficiency Program. Essential characteristics of the IFR instructors include
dedication, a high level of IFR knowledge and skill and the ability to transfer
these attributes to other aviators. IFR Flight Training School instructors meet
rigorous training and IFR flying standards before accepting the responsibility of
developing peak performance with our clients.

IFR Workshops
|
A series of IFR workshops are used to execute an initial IFR refresher program.
This is often necessary to reverse the knowledge and skill decline commonly experienced
by instrument pilots following their IFR checkride. This also enables the instructor
to develop the procedural ability necessary to consistently fly sound instrument
procedures. Each pilot is initially evaluated by the instructor to determine his
or her current level of ability. Then an IFR refresher program is outlined and executed
after which an IFR Proficiency Check (IPC) endorsement is made. Following completion
of the initial refresher program, pilots are encouraged to meet with their instructor
every six months for an additional IFR Workshop, aircraft flight and current IPC
endorsements. Pilots who practice and keep up their IFR skills on their ELITE™ Flight
Simulator will appreciate their ability to meet the FAA's IPC requirements as outlined
in AC61-98A. IFR workshops are conducted "one on one" for optimum effectiveness
(see IFR Workshop information sheet).
