Jerry Adair
Date and place began flying:
March 1988, Houston, Texas

Certificates and ratings:

ATP AMEL, Commercial ASEL-IA, B737 type rating, CFI ASMEL-IA, CGI-AI
Types of aircraft flown:

Mostly general avaition, the EMB120 Brasilia, a T6 Texan, Decathalon, my C150 Aerobat taildragger (well formerly mine anyway).
Most memorable flight
(that you are willing to admit to!):

Every single last time I have taken to the air has given me the greatest satisfaction and thrill of my life.  I especially enjoy passing this enthusiasm on to students.

Favorite airplane: That's a tough one to answer.  I have enjoyed various aspects of each airplane I've flown.  If I had to choose only one, it'd be the T6 Texan.  About the only plane I could think of that would be better would be the P51 Mustang, like most aviators would agree with!

Favorite airport:

Another difficult question to answer.  Santa Paula would have to be up there because of the sense of community and passion for avaition.
Favorite flying flick:

"Wings" - no wait that was a sitcom, not a movie.  Still, I don't think I'd want Lowell working on my birds.  Seriously, "The Tuskegee Airmen" would have to be near the top, as much for the nostalgia of the WWII time frame as anything else.  Some of the flying wasn't bad either and seeing a T6 grace the skies only to be followed by a P51?  I don't know if it gets any better than that.
Best advice to an aspiring aviator:

Do you research, talk to the folk who currently work in the line of profession you seek, read books, surf the Net and everything else you can to become as knowledgeable as you can about the aviation profession.  Then take some time to think about whether or not the realities of the work suit your personality.  If you decide that it is what you want to do, never give up.  And keep it clean.  I can't remember a single person from my airline days who made it as a pilot with a "mark on their record" - and yeah, that applies to ALL "records."
Aviation Motto:

I've always liked the tried and true "keep the sunny side up" for its simplicity and wide range of application.  "Tailwinds" is good too.  And who will ever forget "I feel the need; the need for speed."  Still waiting for my clear #1 favorite though.

Other Information:

Eh, just ask me sometime over a Vanilla milkshake, double (or triple) hamburger with mashed potatoes or steak and potatoes and we'll go from there.  Gotta get some Blue Bell ice cream involved though, then the stories get REALLY good.  Yes, I must work out like crazy because I like to eat.  Join the group!
